Welcome to the new JKDC blog. If you’re familiar with this blog you’ll know that this blog has been around for a while. Since 2008 to be exact.
I’ve published over 100 articles here. Throughout the years I’ve deleted posts with content that were irrelevant and outdated.
The last time I published anything here was back in November of 2011. Since the birth of the Income Press blog, JKDC has taken a back seat. I put 150% of all my efforts into growing that blog.
Over the last year or so I’ve been trying to figure out what the hell to do with this blog. Whether to continue writing or just transferring all content to the IP blog. I struggled with this because most of the content that was here was irrelevant to what the IP blog was all about. And most of it was just straight up outdated content.
So I decided to start from scratch
I deleted every single post and pages I’ve ever published here on this blog. I deleted every file. I simply just reinstalled WordPress. And you know what? It felt damn good.
A clean slate. A fresh new start. A new beginning.
I did have a little help with this decision though. My buddy Matt Wolfe just recently did the same thing. He’s going with the minimalist approach too.
Matt wrote about his experiment in minimalism and that post just struck a cord with me. He basically said that he will no longer be writing or publishing any content for his old blog at Business and Blogging.
That decision could not have been easy for Matt as it definitely wasn’t easy for me. Hell, it was more difficult for me just because of all the content I had here. But still, after thinking about it and having that monkey on my back for nearly a year, it had to be done and I’m glad I did it.
So what’s next?
Well as I said, I’m taking a minimalist approach to this blog. It’s not going to be stuff on marketing tactics or strategies or anything like that. It’s gonna be things like my thoughts, ideas, rants, life hacks, and anything that just pops up in my head.
I’ll also be turning off all comments, (sorry guys). I’ll be modeling this approach from some of my favorite blogs that have no comment engagement whatsoever.
The idea here is to just write good shit. Things that truly matter. Things from the heart.
If you dig it and really like it, then you’ll show some love by sharing it.
How will this benefit both JKDC and Income Press?
With the new minimalist approach, I can now focus on just marketing stuff over at Income Press and the personal type stuff for here.
Every now and then I’ll write something a bit more on the personal side on the IP blog. Some of the readers there do not like that, and I can’t blame them. They are there to learn how to make money, not on how my day is going or how bad my weekend was.
There’s over 150 articles published there and at least 20 of them are so of topic it’s ridiculous. This gives me the chance to put the focus where it needs to be.
Hopefully this new approach will workout for the best. I’m positive it will. And I hope you like it as well.
This is my attempt at a minimalist approach.
